High school seniors are invited to
participate in the
The Living History Museum, Inc.
Scholarship Essay Competition
Students will write and submit an original 800-1000 word essay based on the following prompt:
Choose a person or moment in Black history that shaped the
fight for voting rights. What challenges did they face, what
impact did their actions have? Why is their story important for
us to remember today?

Deadline to register and submit your essay is
February 12, 2026.
Winners will be announced at the Living History Museum event on Sunday, February 22, 2026.
